Whitemead Forest Park Refurbishment Work
Whitemead Forest Park will be closed until the 10th February 2017. There will be no customer access to the park, swimming pool or any other facilities until we reopen.
From the beginning of January onwards we will be working hard to upgrade a number of areas in the park. On completion this will provide a new look ‘Venue’, refurbished bar and restaurant area and deliver improvements to the quality of our pitches.
Whilst this work is underway, our aim is to keep disruption to a minimum for our guests. You can rest assured that all the leisure facilities will still be available as before but there will be some changes to the layout of the park as well as some ongoing work that we want you to be aware of.
Whitemead will reopen for business on the 10th February in time for February Half term. Upon reopening the restaurant and bar areas will be temporarily moved into the newly refurbished ‘Venue’. There will be no changes to the capacity of either facility, in fact, the temporary surroundings will be much more suited to a dining and bar area, so we very much see this as a positive improvement to your stay. We will as usual deliver our entertainment’s programme in the Venue during the school holidays, with an adapted programme for the other weekends.
In addition the swimming pool and gym area will still be available, albeit with a different access point to the current one in the main reception area.
Unfortunately, as a result of the work happening in the current restaurant, bar and reception area it will not be possible for us to provide a soft play area or games room for the children during your stay. There will be an area in the venue for a temporary soft play area but there will not be a games room alternative available.
In addition there will be ongoing grounds work happening in the top site tiered caravan pitch area (The Meadow) which, whilst not actually affecting anyone staying at the time, will mean that the normal views from certain accommodations will not be as they are normally.
Whilst we don’t believe that any of the above works or temporary alterations will affect the overall quality of your stay, we do understand that there are some specific reasons why guests regularly return to Whitemead year after year for their winter/spring break. We will be happy therefore to discuss booking alternatives with you should you feel that this disruption will affect the potential overall enjoyment of your stay.
Our Member Services team are available to discuss any of the above with you on 0800 66 99 44 (8-8 Mon to Fri, 9-5 Sat and Sun).
